Green Investment Bank
Julian is campaigning to bring the Green Investment Bank to Yorkshire.
The Bank is one of the Government’s key commitments to improving green technology and its aim is to play a vital role in addressing market failures unlocking significant new private investment into green infrastructure projects.
Julian believes Yorkshire, and the Leeds City Region in particular, would be the ideal location for the headquarters of this new organisation. Our county already has the green credentials with many innovative projects already underway. We also have the financial acumen being a key financial centre, second only to London in terms of importance. The county also has a diversity of expertise from pioneering regional organisations like the Skipton Building Society to bases of some of the most well-known names on the international financial stage.
The battle to bring the Green Investment Bank to Yorkshire will not be easy though. We are up against stiff competition, from cities such as Edinburgh and London and Bristol. We need everyone who wants to ensure a greener future to pull together and join our campaign.
