Rural entrepreneurs to be supported by Government scheme
On March 6, 2012
Julian is encouraging entrepreneurs and start-up companies in his constituency to apply for the Government’s new Rural Economy Grant Scheme.
60 million pounds has been made available as part of the scheme which aims to support businesses in increasing competitiveness and profits.
Entrepreneurs can apply for individual grants ranging from 25 thousand pounds to one million pounds which can be used to part-fund projects.
The scheme is specifically aimed at supporting farm competitiveness, agri-food, tourism, forestry and micro-enterprises such as digital media technology and small scale, high value manufacturing.
Julian Smith said:
“We need a growing and robust rural economy for the benefit of communities across North Yorkshire and the country as a whole and this investment shows the Government are listening to that view.
“I would encourage any entrepreneur or start-up business with great ideas but little access to money to apply to this scheme which could support them to grow and create jobs.”
